Numerical Study on Lateral Response of Offshore Monopile in Sand under Local Scouring Conditions

نویسندگان

چکیده

Currently, p-y models have been broadly adopted for estimating the lateral bearing capacity of large-diameter monopiles in offshore engineering. However, existing curves cannot reflect effect pile diameter D on response under local scouring conditions. In order to extend model a pile, well-calibrated three-dimensional pile-soil performed by ABAQUS is used study ultimate soil resistance P and initial stiffness k Lin’s model. Based numerical simulation results, two diameter-related parameters A B, which represent relationships between obtained model, respectively, are proposed introduced into present modified The comparison results show that capable providing better estimation than condition.

3D Numerical Study on Scouring Around Bridge Piers Under Unsteady Flow Condition

Local scouring around the bridges piers has always been considered as a problem, especially in rivers. If we do not take the necessary actions to avoid the occurrence of this phenomenon or to reduce its influence, then the bridge's piers will be destroyed. Placing the bridge piers' foundation far from the earth's surface will turn out in a plan which is not economic at all. Experimental studies...

Evaluation of Turbulence on the Dynamics of Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine under the Wave and Wind Excitations

In recent years, the use of offshore wind turbines has been considered on the agenda of the countries which have a significant maritime boundary due to more speed and stability of wind at sea. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of wind turbulence on the aero-hydrodynamic behavior of offshore wind turbines with a monopile platform. Since in the sea, the wind turbine structures ar...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Reliability analysis of monopile offshore wind turbine support structures

We probe the reliability of monopile support structures designed to support industrial scale turbines along the coastal United States using stochastic models for the wind and wave loadings, and representations of the uncertainty associated with soil properties. The turbine support structure investigated is that promulgated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as typical of a monopile sup...
